I think it is a foregone conclusion that everyone likes a good compliment every now and again; we are certainly no exception. Recently, we've been noticing that one of our regular local customers has been ordering coffee to be sent to another gentleman out in Seattle--like, a lot of coffee. We didn't think a lot of it and just assumed it was a nice gesture to a friend or relative.
The other day, Woody, our local customer payed us a visit to pick up and order and share a note from his friend in Seattle. It seems they have been friends for years and the gentleman in Seattle used to be a Richmonder. I'd like to share what he had to say because it was incredibly kind and made us feel great.

"I am still very much enjoying the numerous coffees you sent my
way…..they really are right down my alley. RVA I suppose is for
Richmond, VA and it is a wonderful coffee to carry the name of
Richmond on it. The world is chocked full of ordinary and uninspired
coffee, but yours stand out as exceptional…..they are toe to toe with
my own personal selections, which I will share with you…..If you like
the coffees you sent me, then I feel you will like this as well…..I
special order it from a certain estate on Maui……peaberries……it is a
Maui peaberry dark roast single blend.
I learned from your coffee that they call the James River these days
“America’s Founding River”…..Humm….that sounds so picturesque…….not
the same as I remember it being called when we were both growing up in
VA….what were they? Kepones? Anyway it is good to know that the
River has recovered well enough that folks don’t mind associating
their economic success with it. And I certainly do support
Blanchard’s. "
We're glad you liked the coffee sir, and yes, the Mighty James is in much better shape these days! A big Thank You to our pal Woody, as well, for helping spread great, fresh roasted Blanchard's Coffee all over the country!
